Gosforth & Wasdale Fairtrade

On the 5th March 2007 The Gosforth and Wasdale Fairtrade received mr Sam Magona, a coffee grower from Uganda who gave an informative talk on how the fairtrade organisation has helped Uganda and its people expand production, receive fair prices and to promote a social welfare program.

Over the course of 45 Mins Mr Magona talked to a packed village hall, and explained the history of coffee production, the past problems encountered and the new hope given since the fairtrade organisation came into being.

At the end of his talked he presented Gosforth and Wasdale with certificates in recognition of their new status as Fairtrade centers.


The evening was concluded with a glass of Fairtrade wine, a superb buffet ( also fairtrade of course ) and a raffle. Thanks go to everyone who orgainsed the event and who came and support
