The Gosforth Hall Hotel, Gosforth

Located on the quiet Western edge of the Lake District National Park, Gosforth Hall Hotel & Restaurant is only a few minutes drive from England's deepest lake, highest mountain and smallest church! Building of the Hall commenced in 1658, the year of Oliver Cromwell's death. The date of completion is not clear, although the date on the Coat of Arms situated in the bar is 1673. The hotel stands next to St Mary's Church with the famous 15ft-high Viking Cross. Many of the building's original features have been retained, in keeping with its Grade 2* listing.
The Bridge Inn
The Bridge Inn at Santon is right at the start of the Wasdale valley on the banks of the river Irt. It is ideally situated for a day's activity on the fells and offers great accommodation and superb food in either the bar, the bistro or the restaurant.
